This is why we plan a variety of fun activities throughout the year for parents to enjoy alongside their children! Some examples include our Halloween Costume Party, Mother’s Day Lunch, Father’s Day BBQ, Teddy Bear Picnic, and Valentine’s Day Craft Time. We also encourage parents to share special information, cultural traditions, or talents with the class to enrich our preschool curriculum. Moreover, our open-door policy invites parents to join their child at any time during the day. Most importantly, we emphasize the need for ongoing open lines of communication between parents and teachers. Parents should feel free to talk to their child’s teacher during drop-off or pick-up times. We welcome any information that may help us better meet the needs of your child. Lastly, we are always available to schedule a conference for discussions that require more in-depth conversation regarding your child's progress at our Reno preschool.

That's why our preschool curriculum is carefully designed to ensure that your children grow and learn during this vital foundational period. Our unique “Whole Child” Development Philosophy incorporates engaging and age-appropriate activities that foster physical, intellectual, emotional, and social growth. We recognize that every child is distinct, with their own needs and interests, which is why we offer child care in Reno that focuses on hands-on sensory experiences to help children grasp key concepts, emphasizing pre-reading skills and problem-solving techniques alongside oral and written language development. Through cooperative learning, we enhance social skills, and our art projects focus on the creative process instead of just the end result. We utilize a small group instruction style to cater to the individual needs of each child enrolled at our daycare in Reno. At MunchkinLand Preschool, a leading choice for child care in Reno, our goal is to promote healthy choices for our littles. This includes ensuring they get plenty of fresh air and outside time. We are scheduled outside for at least 2 hours each day, one hour in the morning and one in the afternoon. While we often bring out chalk, bubbles,
At MunchkinLand Preschool, a leading choice for child care in Reno, our goal is to promote healthy choices for our littles. This includes ensuring they get plenty of fresh air and outside time. We are scheduled outside for at least 2 hours each day, one hour in the morning and one in the afternoon. While we often bring out chalk, bubbles, hula hoops, or parachutes, this time is predominately unstructured to allow children to play and explore however they wish. The playground features climbing structures, a slide, tricycles with a path, and a playhouse for the children to enjoy. We recognize that many children may have plenty of screen time at home; therefore, at our daycare in Reno, we limit screen time except for rare occasions, such as a special pajamas, popcorn, and movie day or during prolonged inclement weather. Children bring their own lunchboxes and water bottles to our preschool, where we encourage healthy, kid-friendly foods that adhere to the recommended nutritional guidelines. Teachers sit at the tables with the children while they eat to model table manners and assist with opening containers, complementing our preschool curriculum.

Miss Kimmy
Miss Kimmy has dedicated her life to nurturing and inspiring young children through early childhood education. Her passion began in 1987 when she started teaching preschool, followed by five wonderful years in kindergarten. After gaining valuable experience as a center director at a large school, Kim followed her lifelong dream and opened MunchkinLand Preschool in 1999, a standout choice for child care in Reno.
For over two decades, Miss Kimmy has created a loving and welcoming environment at MunchkinLand Preschool, where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. She emphasizes a preschool curriculum that ensures every child is known, celebrated, and encouraged as they grow and thrive in our daycare in Reno.
Outside of MunchkinLand, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, Damon, their three children, and their two tiny dogs. She loves decorating, entertaining, and making memories with family and friends. Her greatest joy comes from being part of the many families who make MunchkinLand Preschool such a special part of the Reno preschool community.
Miss. Rissa
Miss. Riss has been a valued part of the MunchkinLand Preschool family for over four years. With her CDA Credentials and a true passion for early childhood education, she consistently finds creative new ways to make learning fun, engaging, and memorable for the children in her care at this leading daycare in Reno.
Marissa’s incredible artistic talent shines through in the thoughtful projects and activities she creates with the children. She loves encouraging their creativity, celebrating their individuality, and helping them discover the joy of learning through hands-on experiences, all of which are integral to our preschool curriculum.
One of the things Miss Rissa treasures most is building meaningful relationships with each child and their family. She strives to create a warm, welcoming environment at MunchkinLand where everyone feels like they belong. While she may not be a parent herself, she has a heart full of love for every child at MunchkinLand and cares for each one as if they were her own, making it one of the top child care options in Reno.
Miss. Tierra
Miss. Tierra comes from a large Reno family, being the 3rd of 8 siblings and having 4 nephews whom she absolutely adores. With over 5 years in the Early Childhood field, it's clear she is a natural at child care in Reno, displaying a calm and patient demeanor, especially in her work at MunchkinLand Preschool. Tierra obtained her CDA in 2021, enhancing her qualifications to contribute to the preschool curriculum. One of her favorite pastimes is attending concerts and traveling with family, and she loves singing and dancing with the children to all different types of music at her daycare in Reno!
