Our Staff...

Simply put, the primary goal of the staff at Munchkinland Preschool is to provide the kind of care and education that you want for your child. This includes helping teach the children lessons that will last a lifetime like sharing, cooperation, self-confidence and respect for others. We feel that our teachers set us apart from the rest. They are specifically chosen because of their dedication to meeting the developmental and educational needs of children. But most of all, because they truly love working with them. Each member of our staff meets all of the qualifications set forth by Washoe County and has undergone a complete background check. In addition, they attend ongoing classes to stay current on the latest early childhood techniques as well as CPR. Our teachers are truly early childhood professionals who have devoted their lives to being the best preschool teachers that they can be.

At MunchkinLand Preschool we are well aware that the first five years are the most important in brain development. Therefore, we’ve designed our curriculum so that your child will learn the most during this foundational period. This “whole child” development philosophy uses age-appropriate and fun activities that promote physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. We realize that each child is unique and has different needs and interests. Hands on sensory experiences help children understand concepts as we emphasize pre-reading skills, problem solving, oral and written language. Cooperative learning enhances social skills and art projects focus on the process rather than the product. A small group instruction style is used to meet the individual needs of each child at the school. Being in such a caring and nurturing environment also gives each child the opportunity to develop positive self-esteem.

We believe that this positive feeling will last throughout their lives and build the foundation for higher learning.
